A useful estimate request does not need to be long. It needs to show what you want done, where the work is located and what result you expect. At ALEXKO LLC, the first step is to text a short description, two or three clear photos and your city or ZIP code.
Here is a practical checklist for preparing that message before you contact us about a qualifying minor home repair.
1. Start with one wide photo
Show the whole area around the repair. For a damaged wall, include nearby corners, windows or trim. For a door problem, show the door and frame. For a fixture replacement, show the fixture in its setting.
A wide photo explains location and access. It can reveal details that are missing from a close-up, such as furniture in front of the work area or a repair beside a cabinet.
2. Add a close-up of the issue
Take a clear photo of the damaged section, loose part or item you want replaced. If there are several problems, label them by room or location in your message.
For an issue involving movement, such as a door that does not latch, a short video may be more useful than several similar photos. Record the problem as it normally occurs; there is no need to take anything apart.
3. Include approximate size or quantity
Tell us whether you need one handle replaced or several, one wall patched or multiple damaged spots reviewed. For painting, include approximate room dimensions and identify the surfaces involved.
You do not need to present uncertain measurements as exact. “About six inches across” or “three interior doors” is a useful starting point when the photos provide context.
4. Describe the finished result
A repair can have different endpoints. With drywall repair, tell us whether you need a paint-ready surface or want texture and painting discussed as well.
For interior painting, explain whether the request covers walls only, trim, doors or touch-ups. Say what materials you already have and what you would like included in the estimate.
5. Add location, access and timing
Include your city or ZIP code, your preferred timing and any building access restrictions. Mention whether the room is occupied and whether furniture or stored items are near the work area.
We will review the information and discuss the next step. Some projects need additional photos, measurements or an on-site assessment before the scope and price can be confirmed.
A simple message you can adapt
“I need a small wall repair in Monrovia. The damaged area is approximately six inches across. I would like the estimate to include texture and painting. I have attached a wide photo, a close-up and a photo of the paint label.”
This is an example of a project description, not a quoted price or a promise that every project can be assessed remotely.
